BRUSSELS - From January 1, 2023, the NBN will also sell all standards for electrical engineering and electronics. The NBN and the BEC signed an agreement to this effect yesterday. With this, all Belgian, European and international standards will be offered in one place.
Until now, the BEC (Belgian Electrotechnical Committee) was responsible for the sale of standards for electrotechnics and electronics and the NBN (Bureau for Standardization) for all other standards. On Oct. 26, an agreement was signed whereby standards for electrotechnics and electronics will also be included in the NBN offering as of Jan. 1, 2023. Both Dirk De Moor, secretary general of the BEC, and Johan Haelterman, chairman of the executive committee of the NBN, are very pleased with this cooperation.
Switching to one central standards platform means better service and higher cost efficiency.

Interesting for everyone
It is a logical step. Everyone benefits:
Standards development for electrical engineering and electronics will remain with the BEC. Also, Technical Officers remain the regular points of contact at the BEC for substantive questions about BEC standards.
Companies need simple solutions. With this important step, we are going to make life easier for a lot of people.
